We met recently at the show,i was with Martin Campbell. We were talking about urban diversions and that kind of thing. The video of the demolition was quite spectacular, sad to see it have to come down. I hope you’ll build more. I really loved your prints too by the way, very formal and intricate which I love. Look forward to seeing more of your work.
Hi Robin and thank you so much for your message. It was rather cathartic taking down the piece. In a way a ‘demolition’ as called allows new space for new and better work to emerge – there’s more physical but also mental space. There were so many things I would improve for encephalon. I am glad in a way it’s over. I feel not sadness nor pity for the work I put into it. What’s great is the amount of help received from other artists in eca. There were more than ten people involved in the build, and I’d like to thank them all. I will put up a page with all the final material from the show. including a thanks page. Hopefully there will be opportunities for future work. I am interested in teamwork and collective projects. Perhaps next ones can also be more permanent installations rather than ephemeral. Again thanks for coming around and having a chat. I will try and contact you guys next time I am in Glasgow. We should go for that pint and chat. Until then. Enjoy the summer:)
